Children (5+ )
Is your child struggling and you just don't know what to do? Does your child struggle to open up to you or other adults? I've found that I have a unique ability to get kids to open up fairly quickly. As a teacher I always spoke to my students as people, not as little kids. Although they are young, they don't want to be treated as such. I've been able to successfully establish rapport with my clients and gain their trust. I work to help provide kids a safe space while helping them to enjoy therapy. I work with parents to help support you in helping your child find that childlike happiness that they deserve as little kids. I am here to be that bridge between you two and to help fill in the gaps.
Pre-Teens/Teens
Are you a teen just looking for someone to hear you out that isn't a friend or your parents? Are you looking for someone to hear you out and sit in the "suck" with you? I can be that person for you. Throughout my career I have worked with teens in a variety of settings. Middle and high school can be really hard. Sometimes you just need someone to really hear you out and not try to lecture you. For those of you preparing to transition to college post high school, that can be scary. My time as an admission counselor allowed me to gain great insight into the college process and help ease the stress of many of my teen clients as they embarked on the college process. I am here to help make these pivotal years of your life feel a little less lonely and a little less stressful.
Young Adults
Being a young adult is exciting, exhilarating and terrifying! You're finally out on your own; now what? Sometimes you want someone to just listen. Other times you need some help. Another day you just might want someone to comfort you. I work to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients to be able to figure out which is needed during our conversations. If I am unsure, I'll simply ask. I am not the therapist who is going to throw a ton of worksheets, questionnaires, homework and podcasts at you. I will provide some insight, coping skills, strategies and resources as needed but more importantly I will be that ear that you are looking for in life. I can be that nonjudgmental, empathetic, safe space for you. I want to help you feel more comfortable in your skin to thrive in your early adulthood.
Let's Talk
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can connect and find out if we are a good fit.
